One of St. Petersburg’s most iconic destinations is making quick progress on renovations to further enhance its beauty. In the fall of 2021, the historic Vinoy Renaissance began a “comprehensive transformation” of its property through a series of renovations and redesigns, and this week the hotel unveiled its newly-completed lobby, patisserie and veranda.

Locals who frequent The Vinoy’s veranda and lobby for bites and drinks with a view will be among the first to experience the reimagined social areas. The veranda’s renovation has made for an even more elegant and relaxing experience. In addition to a new patisserie, the renovated lobby includes restoration of the resort’s original cypress wood beams and ceramic flooring, along with the installation of lantern chandeliers.

The new patisserie, Lottie, welcomes Vinoy guests as soon as they step inside, with a wraparound café just to the left of the main entrance. With fresh bread and other baked goods, as well as a full coffee bar, Lottie offers a wide range of goodies from baguettes, quiches and savory croissant sandwiches, to gelato, eclairs, cookies, tarts, brownies and much more.

Additionally, The Vinoy’s new luxury fashion boutique, Sunni Spencer, is now open.

All of this comes as The Vinoy has been nearing completion of its comprehensive renovation. Led by world-renowned firms Rockwell Group and Hart Howerton, the elegant redesign of the historic hotel includes the resort’s celebrated veranda, porte cochère, main lobby, guest rooms, spa, ballrooms and restaurants. Designers have taken cues from the iconic resort’s storied past in an effort to “incorporate elegant design elements while celebrating The Vinoy’s traditional Mediterranean Revival design and old-Florida grandeur.”

The resort recently unveiled its renovated ballrooms, and in the grand ballroom, the resort has restored the iconic Chihuly chandelier and installed a lush walled garden outside the ballroom’s arched windows. Renovations also include upgrades to the resort’s pool terrace, most notably a new pool restaurant and bar adding to the existing Paul’s Landing. Plans call for stylish cabanas and sun loungers, as well.

Stay tuned for more updates as renovations continue.
