Case Study | 895 Emerson, Palo Alto, California
Building green for green organizations

We are responsible for the building renovation and site redesign of a former auto body shop. It will be the basic building block for new headquarter offices for several nonprofit organizations, including the Schmidt Family Foundation, the 11th Hour Project and Climate Central, all of which focus on the responsible use of natural resources.

895 Emerson will provide its own energy with solar panels and reclaim and re-use storm and waste water with a sophisticated collection and filtration system. The interior renovation will reuse 100 percent of the auto shop’s existing walls, floors and roof, and 50 percent of its additional materials will be reused, recycled content or regionally manufactured.
